{"id":11083,"date":"2012-06-09T09:06:22","date_gmt":"2012-06-09T17:06:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/?p=11083"},"modified":"2012-06-09T10:00:09","modified_gmt":"2012-06-09T18:00:09","slug":"call-me-maybe-covers-we-have-a-winner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/2012-06\/call-me-maybe-covers-we-have-a-winner\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Call Me Maybe&#8221; Covers&#8211;We Have a Winner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former <strong>Canadian Idol<\/strong> contestant <strong>Carley Rae Jepsen&#8217;s<\/strong> song <strong><em>Call Me Maybe<\/em><\/strong> is (for better or worse) dominating the airwaves this summer.\u00a0 Even more curious is that musicians and celebrities around the world have been lining up to air their tongue-in-cheek covers of the song (check <strong>YouTube<\/strong>, they&#8217;re everywhere).\u00a0 It&#8217;s become a &#8220;thing.&#8221;\u00a0 Last night in a dressing room before<strong> The Jimmy Fallon Show<\/strong> proper, the increasingly-ascendant <strong>Jimmy Fallon<\/strong> and the <strong>Roots<\/strong>, accompanied by <strong> Ms. Jepsen<\/strong>, picked up some kids instruments, a uke, a couple of kazoos and a melodica and absolutely killed the song.\u00a0 Infectious and joyous, we now have the definitive cover of the song.\u00a0 That&#8217;s entertainment!\u00a0 So the rest of ya, please stop. You&#8217;ve got better things to do.
