\nWe’ve been writing for quite some time about Kyle Porterfield<\/strong>, his prior band Conrad Plymouth<\/strong><\/a> and his new band Field Report<\/strong><\/a>. Field Report’s<\/strong> first full-length and eponymously-titled album is one of our favorite albums of 2012<\/strong>. Porterfield writes superb song-operas for survivors and aspirants that serve to operate on your heart.\u00a0 Think Waits<\/strong> and\u00a0 Springsteen,<\/strong> with a dash or two of Craig Finn<\/strong> and John Darnielle<\/strong>, but with Porterfield’s own spangled spin.\u00a0 Field Report<\/strong> has also been receiving rallying raves for their opening sets on Aimee Mann’s<\/strong> recently-completed tour.\u00a0 The band seems to be finding their tour-legs as they’ve now added a headlining tour of their own in November (what, no Cali?).\u00a0 Check out their well-crafted, affecting album below.\u00a0 Once you’re inevitably convinced of its worth, go buy it.\u00a0 And then find a date for one of their tour dates listed below the album.<\/p>\n
