Feist’s<\/strong> 2011, Polaris Prize<\/strong>-winning album Metals<\/strong> still resonates at Chez Lefort, over a year later.\u00a0 Yesterday, on D\u00eda de los Muertos<\/strong>, Ms. Feist released a new black & white (except for one digitally colored butterfly) video for Graveyard<\/strong><\/em>, one of the more affecting songs on the album.\u00a0 The Keith Megna<\/strong>-directed video features a stark scene augmented by digital butterflies and blackbirds.\u00a0 Feist<\/strong> has this to say about the song (via Pitchfork):<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not talking about the Graveyard as a location, but of the entangled thoughts you get when visiting a graveyard. Usually you\u2019re there to visit someone who\u2019s died, and you think in broad terms about what they\u2019ve become and your own mortality and about what time means. We\u2019re alone in the field, always at a distance. And people appear and disappear from your life. Grief comes in the form of much larger thoughts; it\u2019s more philosophical and it leads to a confused state of mind. You don\u2019t get those thoughts from checking your emails! It\u2019s a pullback from details and its grand and isolating.\u201d<\/p>\n
