As we’ve repeatedly written, Daniel Lanois <\/strong><\/a>can do no wrong in our minds.\u00a0 Watch\/listen below a 50-minute set by his band Black Dub<\/strong> (featuring Trixie Whitley<\/strong> on lead vocals, guitar, and keyboards; the fantastic Brian Blade<\/strong> on drums and Jim Wilson<\/strong> on bass and vocals) at the\u00a0 Miles Davis Hall in Montreux, Switzerland<\/strong> from July 2011.\u00a0 Amongst other things that he does so well (producer, songwriter, singer, you name it), Lanois<\/strong> is one of our most<\/strong> soulful, tasteful and talented guitar and pedal steel<\/strong> (check at 11:37 on) players extant.\u00a0 Watch and feel it.\u00a0 The setlist is below the video.<\/p>\n
