As the hilarious Scot and late-night host, Craig Ferguson<\/strong>, would say:\u00a0 “It’s been a great week in America.<\/strong>”\u00a0 And, we might add, California too<\/strong>! \u00a0 Regardless your take on the outcomes (our sincere condolences to our good American friends on the right), democracy ultimately prevailed on Tuesday.\u00a0 Once again, Americans had voices and sang out.<\/p>\n

It’s been a busy week for all, and particularly Sufjan Stevens <\/strong>(see immediately below).\u00a0 It turns out that while we were all voting on Tuesday, Sufjan Stevens<\/strong> (not knowing the outcomes) released his interpretation of the Star Spangled Banner<\/strong><\/em> with added lyrics.\u00a0 It’s a classic Sufjanese<\/strong> interpretation of our National Anthem<\/strong>.\u00a0 The jarring (but apt) electric guitar sections are somewhat surprising (but not unusual) for Stevens (particularly following the seminal Hendrix<\/strong> interpretation). But the chorus is classic Sufjanese and captures the collective democratic voice well.\u00a0 Check it out, followed by another Christmas song, Angels We Have Heard On High<\/strong><\/em>, off the impending Silver & Gold<\/strong> box set.<\/p>\n
