Thao & The Get Down Stay Down<\/strong><\/a> will release their third album We The Common<\/strong> on February 05, 2013 in North America and February 04, 2013 in rest of the world.\u00a0 We’ve enjoyed this Bay Area band since their inception.\u00a0 Check out the first song off the album, Holy<\/strong><\/em> Roller<\/strong>, including its salient chorus.\u00a0 The song’s riffs remind us of Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers’<\/strong> 1977 song Egyptian Reggae<\/strong><\/em>, which in turn borrowed from\u00a0Earl Zero’s<\/strong> None Shall Escape the Judgement. <\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>All three are set out sequentially below.\u00a0 Proof positive that there’s nothing new under the sun (though Thao<\/strong> has added banjo to the mix).\u00a0 You can also download Holy Roller<\/strong><\/em> HERE<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n
