{"id":15303,"date":"2013-02-20T17:35:17","date_gmt":"2013-02-21T01:35:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/?p=15303"},"modified":"2013-02-20T17:35:17","modified_gmt":"2013-02-21T01:35:17","slug":"watch-field-reports-moving-video-for-im-not-waiting-anymore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/2013-02\/watch-field-reports-moving-video-for-im-not-waiting-anymore\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch Field Report&#8217;s Moving Video For &#8220;I&#8217;m Not Waiting Anymore&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have been huge fans of <strong>Field Report<\/strong> ever since their predecessor-in-name\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/2011-05\/out-with-the-old-and-in-with-the-new-singalongs-version\/\"><strong>Conrad Plymouth&#8217;s<\/strong> song <em><strong>Fergus Falls<\/strong><\/em><\/a> felled us with its majestic axe in early 2011.\u00a0 We still can&#8217;t resist its charms.\u00a0 Last year Milwaukee songwriter\/singer <strong>Chris Porterfield<\/strong> reconstituted his band as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/2012-08\/watch-field-report-perform-fergus-falls\/\"><strong>Field Report<\/strong><\/a> and decided to let his mantra be this:\u00a0 I am not waiting anymore.\u00a0 That same mantra became a title for a song off of their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/2012-10\/field-reports-new-album-one-of-our-favorite-2012-albums\/\">fantastic eponymously-titled 2012 album<\/a>, one of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/2013-01\/the-best-albums-of-2012-2\/\"><strong>Best Albums of 2012<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 Now comes (via <strong>NPR<\/strong>) the official video for the album&#8217;s <em><strong>I Am Not Waiting Anymore<\/strong><\/em>, as evocatively directed by <strong>Manny Marquez<\/strong>.\u00a0 As you&#8217;ll see below, the video depicts a homeless and hurting man in various stages of his life, who is\u00a0 ultimately comforted and cared for by an angel in white.\u00a0 As you may know, we are grovelers for grace and redemption in song, and this video and song have it in spades.\u00a0 The song&#8217;s lyrics follow the video.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Porterfield<\/strong> recently told <strong>NPR<\/strong>:\u00a0 &#8220;The song is about getting over past mistakes and circumstances, and embracing our own agency in life. We all have choices to make daily.
