Cat Power Perform &#8220;Bully&#8221; on Later&#8230;with Jools Holland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been a tough year for <strong>Chan Marshall<\/strong>, otherwise known as <strong>Cat Power<\/strong>.\u00a0 She was jilted by her &#8220;soul mate,&#8221;\u00a0 then in and out of hospitals with afflictions, and left to wind her way through new ways to expand her sound-palette to maintain interest and relevancy.\u00a0 The upshot?\u00a0 She delivered a deftly-adventurous, critically-acclaimed album, <strong>Sun<\/strong>, with its modern-sounding rhythms and added effects.\u00a0\u00a0 Many would have been perfectly happy with a classic <strong>Cat Power<\/strong> sound, rather than the comparatively-evolved sounds on <strong>Sun<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t surprising, therefore, that rumors began swirling that <strong>Cat Power<\/strong> will release a new compendium of songs that didn&#8217;t fit onto <strong>Sun<\/strong>.\u00a0 One of the first song-clues can be heard below.\u00a0 Marshall recently performed the song <em><strong>Bully<\/strong><\/em> on <strong>Later with Jools Holland<\/strong>, accompanied only by solo piano.\u00a0<em><strong> Bully<\/strong><\/em> exhibits more of the fragility and emotion that originally won her fans and which would have fit well onto her older albums<strong> Moon Pix<\/strong> or <strong>The Covers Record<\/strong>.\u00a0 But instead <em><strong>Bully<\/strong> <\/em>is (as of now) a bonus track on the iTunes-purchasable <strong>Sun<\/strong> album.\u00a0 Check the performance below.\u00a0 In other good news:\u00a0 Cat Power&#8217;s tour is going so well that she\/they have announced the addition of more shows.\u00a0 The current dates follow the lyrics at
