If you’ve read Neil Young’s<\/strong> telling autobiography, Waging Heavy Peace<\/strong>, you know that old-man\u00a0Young<\/strong> is now prone to pay tribute to many of the people that have had major impacts on his life.\u00a0 Young<\/strong> first met Willie Nelson<\/strong> back in the early ’80s, and Young<\/strong> helped\u00a0Willie<\/strong> on Nelson’s first Farm Aid<\/strong> fundraiser in 1985 and thereafter.\u00a0 As you will see below, Young<\/strong> clearly has a soft spot (who doesn’t?) for Willie Nelson<\/strong>.\u00a0 Watch below (via TwentyFourBit<\/strong><\/a>) as Young<\/strong> poignantly sings (from the next CMT Crossroads <\/strong>episode) his sweetly nostalgic song Long May You Run<\/em><\/strong> for Willie Nelson<\/strong> as a part of Nelson’s 80th birthday<\/strong> celebration.\u00a0 As Twenty-Four Bit<\/strong> points out, Young<\/strong> joked before playing the song that \u201cI wrote it for my car, but it works for you great.\u201d The hug between these musical greats at the end is priceless.\u00a0 Long may they both run.<\/p>\n
