Cincinnati’s Ass Ponys<\/strong> took over our lives for a period in the mid ’90s with their album The Known Universe<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 It’s what separated us from the known.\u00a0 The details of the Ass Pony’s<\/strong> universe pulverized our perception of our small world.\u00a0 Listen below to the album in its entirety, and be mesmerized.\u00a0 The band managed to meld the best of REM, Husker Du and The Replacements<\/strong> and still make a sound all their own and fill it with inventive lyrical tales and nuances.\u00a0 Others may prefer other of their albums, but The Known Universe<\/strong><\/em> is one of the few albums that spoke to us from start to finish.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately the band went on hiatus in 2005 and hasn’t really been heard from since.\u00a0 No website, no nuttin’.\u00a0 But for a time, they were known well by us.<\/p>\n
