Theater<\/strong> that he (and his family) had moved from<strong> Brooklyn<\/strong> to <strong>Los Angeles<\/strong> (<strong>Venice<\/strong> actually, as revealed on <strong>KCRW<\/strong>) and loved his new city.\u00a0 And then we recalled all the mentions of Los Angeles in <strong>The National&#8217;s<\/strong> songs, and it made a bit more sense.\u00a0 Like legions of artists before <strong>Berninger<\/strong>, there is a fascination with the city that never sleeps.\u00a0 Following the two shows in LA over the weekend at the <strong>Greek Theater<\/strong> and the <strong>Hollywood Forever Cemetery<\/strong>, <strong>The National<\/strong> piled it on in <strong>LA<\/strong> with visits to<strong> KCRW<\/strong> yesterday and the <strong>Jimmy Kimmel Show<\/strong> on Monday.\u00a0 With <strong>Berninger<\/strong> in residence, even we might eventually like that damned town.<\/p>\n<p>Watch below as <strong>The National<\/strong> performs <em><strong>I Should Live in Salt<\/strong><\/em> (with superb instrument-isolation audio) and <em><strong>Pink Rabbits<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Then listen to the entire <strong>KCRW<\/strong> session <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kcrw.com\/music\/programs\/mb\/mb130813the_national\"><strong>HERE <\/strong><\/a>(particularly worthy for the stripped down sound resulting from <strong>Bryan Devenford&#8217;s<\/strong> back-induced absence).\u00a0 After, check out the band performing <em><strong>This Is The Last Time<\/strong><\/em> and <em><strong>Graceless<\/strong><\/em> on the <strong>Jimmy Kimmel Show<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Now I only think about Los Angeles when the sound kicks out<\/strong>.<strong>&#8220;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\"
