Yet another British band, London Grammar<\/strong>, have been buzzing from across the Pond.\u00a0 Their debut EP Metal & Dust<\/i><\/strong> was released in February, and their debut album If You Wait<\/i>\u00a0<\/strong>will hit on September 9th.\u00a0 The trio’s lead-singer, Hannah Reid<\/strong>, does not hide her vocal resemblance to Florence (& The Machine)<\/strong>, but the band’s backing is comparatively stripped-down and they mostly avoid Florence’s<\/strong> grandiosity and histrionics.\u00a0 In their comparatively-spare sound, London Grammar<\/strong> also remind of the atmospheric The xx<\/strong>, but perhaps minus some of that band’s fine dynamism.\u00a0 The jury’s still out for us on this group, but there’s no refuting that Ms. Reid<\/strong> has serious vocal talent (if you can get past the obvious Flo-rishes<\/strong>).\u00a0 Watch below as the band performs Strong<\/strong><\/em> for The Line of Best Fit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
