We’ve recently been sky-high on Athens’ Futurebirds<\/strong><\/a> and their fantastic 2013 album, Baba Yaga<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Musically, Futurebirds<\/strong> melds the influences of Neil Young, REM, <\/strong>and Band of Horses<\/strong>, along with hints of Grizzly Bear<\/strong><\/em>, and not necessarily in that order.\u00a0 Add to that the signature pedal steel of Dennis Love<\/strong>, and four-part harmonies, and we are all-in (as we’ve written before<\/strong><\/a>).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 To get a quick immersion, check out the band as they perform Tan Lines<\/strong><\/em> and Death Awaits<\/strong><\/em> at KEXP<\/strong> below.\u00a0 Then imagine the hirsute band performing the songs in their fans’ favorite setting:\u00a0 live in either a small club or at a festival (the venue is irrelevant).\u00a0 We can’t wait to catch ’em live.\u00a0 If you like the videos below, go HERE <\/a><\/strong>to catch the full performance.<\/p>\n
