Like many of our generation, The Clash<\/strong> were OUR band in our formative years.\u00a0 We lived through school and life with The Clash<\/strong> leading the way, and have yet to experience a more thrilling or better concert than their 1979 show<\/strong> at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium <\/strong>(their second show ever in the US).\u00a0 Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon<\/strong> and Topper Headon<\/strong> could do no wrong in our book.\u00a0 And that feeling persists to this day.\u00a0 So we were thrilled to learn that the band would release a massive new, all-encompassing box-set this week entitled Sound System<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

To coincide with the release of the new box-set, Google Plus<\/strong> has produced a new documentary on the band entitled Audio Ammunition<\/strong><\/em>, which includes never-before-seen footage of the band and interviews concerning each of their incendiary albums.\u00a0 You can see it in five parts below.\u00a0 In addition, Google Plus<\/strong> is releasing various videos of other artists covering Clash<\/strong> songs.\u00a0 So far the pick of the litter (somewhat surprisingly) is Kurt Vile’s<\/strong> take on the politically-charged Guns of Brixton<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Check it out at bottom following Audio Ammunition<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n
