All were shocked last night when Elvis Costello<\/strong> and The Roots<\/strong> performed together on the Jimmy Fallon Show<\/strong>.\u00a0 Well, not exactly.\u00a0 You see the artists actually recorded their new joint-album Wise Up Ghost<\/strong> <\/em>in The Roots’<\/strong> dressing room in the Fallon studio.\u00a0 Watch below as Costello<\/strong> and The Roots<\/strong> soundly strutted the best song off the new album, Walk Us Uptown<\/strong><\/em>, augmented by a horn section of four.\u00a0 After, check out their web-only rendering (with added female vocalist) of the slow-ful Tripwire<\/strong><\/em>, with nursery-piano sounds leading into a superb group vocal.\u00a0 At bottom watch Costello’s interview<\/strong> with Fallon<\/strong> in which Elvis<\/strong> explained how The Roots<\/strong> collaboration came about.\u00a0 Superb stuff.\u00a0 Costello<\/strong> will again appear on the Fallon Show<\/strong> on Thursday<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
