Arcade Fire’s<\/strong> <\/a>highly-anticipated new album\u00a0Reflektor<\/em><\/strong> will be released next week.\u00a0 The band continued to kick up a fuss about the album by appearing last night on The Colbert Report.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 After a mostly-lame interview, the band faked viewers by ostensibly kicking off Normal Person<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>in giant paper m\u00e2ch\u00e9 heads, only to have the camera swing over to the pseudonymous “The Reflector<\/strong>s” band in fancy garb (including Nudie Cohn<\/strong><\/a>-esque jackets) and standard (for them) instrumentation.<\/p>\n

Any concerns that Arcade Fire<\/strong> had gone electro-disco (owing to LCD Soundsytems’ James Murphy’s<\/strong> involvement on the album) were quickly dispelled as the ten-piece band<\/strong> blazed the stage on Normal Person<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Said disco could be heard, however, pulsing behind their infectious, web-only performance of Afterlife<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Check out both performances below.<\/p>\n

We know Reflektor<\/strong><\/em> is going to be good; we just don’t know how good.\u00a0 These performances bode incredibly well for the album.<\/p>\n
