Regrets.\u00a0 Encore. Nous regrettons tout. We opted out of Okkervil River’s<\/strong> <\/a>concert this past Sunday at the Wiltern Theater<\/strong> in LA. What were we thinking?<\/p>\n

Had we seen last night’s broadcast of the band on Conan<\/strong> last week, in advance of the Wiltern<\/strong> show (poster for the show above), we would have crawled through cut glass to attend on Sunday. Instead we have but more regrets. Such is life at times. We won’t make that mistake next time, and are crossing-fingers for a return visit next year.\u00a0 To see the cause of our angst, watch Okkervil River<\/strong> conquer Conan’s<\/strong> stage last night in their performance of Down Down The Deep River<\/strong><\/em>, one of the many song highlights on their outstanding new album, The Silver Gymnasium<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 If you don’t own this album, you are completely missing the boat (down down that deep Okkervil River).\u00a0 Watch below as leader Will Sheff<\/strong> and the band play with verve and panache throughout.\u00a0 Tour de force.<\/p>\n
