Last night at the Bridge School Benefit Concert<\/strong> there was musical magic aplenty.\u00a0 In addition to Tom Waits’ first live show in over five years, one of the clear highlight’s of the night was an ensemble tribute to the late, great Lou Reed.<\/strong>\u00a0 Watch below as My Morning Jacket, Neil Young, Elvis Costello, Conor Oberst, Jennie Lewis<\/strong> and The Watson Twins<\/strong> cover Oh! Sweet Nuthin’<\/strong> <\/em>off of the last Velvet Underground<\/strong> studio album, Loaded<\/strong><\/em>. Between Jim James’, Elvis Costello’s<\/strong> and\u00a0 ensemble vocals, Young’s<\/strong> fervent harmonica playing, and Carl Broemel’s<\/strong> dobro playing, they lit up the night right for Lou.\u00a0 R.I.P. Sweet Lou<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

And by the way:\u00a0 it’s a wonder Reed<\/strong> and The Velvet Underground<\/strong> didn’t sue the Marshall Tucker Band<\/strong> for their copycat melody on Can’t You See?<\/strong><\/em> (listen at bottom). <\/p>\n
