On December 10th, everyone’s favorite (save a couple of cranks) Neil Young<\/strong> will release Live at The Cellar Door<\/strong><\/em> from his archives. The album features Young<\/strong> solo on guitar and piano, and was recorded live at The Cellar Door in D.C.<\/strong> in 1970<\/strong><\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

After Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young<\/strong> went on hiatus in 1970, Young<\/strong> naturally wrote a raft of great new songs and scheduled a solo tour.\u00a0 To prepare, he arranged some intimate warm-up shows at The Cellar Door<\/strong>.\u00a0 As can be seen from the set list and stream below, Young<\/strong> debuted Old Man<\/strong> <\/em>(from 1972’s Harvest<\/strong><\/em>) and See the Sky About to Rain<\/strong><\/em> (which would eventually appear on 1974’s On The Beach<\/strong><\/em>), and added Buffalo Springfield’s Expecting to Fly <\/em><\/strong>and Flying On The Ground Is Wrong,<\/strong><\/em> and a rare solo piano version of Cinnamon<\/strong> Girl<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 The remainder of the album is largely made up of superb songs from fan-favorite After The Goldrush.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em> Regardless, <\/em>the album gives a great glimpse of the gamut of Young’s<\/strong> early career.<\/p>\n
