Janelle Mon\u00e1e<\/span><\/strong> is finally having her way with the world.\u00a0 And it is much-deserved.\u00a0 She is simply the best female performer on the planet right now and a proper role model (Beyonce,<\/strong> not even close).\u00a0 After Mon\u00e1e<\/span><\/strong>‘s 2013 album Electric Lady<\/strong><\/em> rightfully received critical acclaim and popularity, she has gone on to light up stages around the world, including electrifying performances on Later With Jools Holland<\/strong><\/em><\/a> and at the White House<\/strong> (as a part of the Women of Soul<\/strong> <\/em>program).\u00a0 She also received this year’s Award for Achievement in Arts and Media<\/strong> from Harvard University. \u00a0<\/strong>And now she’s teamed up with Pepsi<\/strong> (due respect to the corporation, but people please drink water) for an anti-bullying video featuring her cover of David Bowie’s<\/strong> Heroes<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 The video will air during the upcoming World Cup<\/strong> coverage this summer.\u00a0 This heat got ya down?\u00a0 Watch this video for some cooling uplift.\u00a0 Asked by The Guardian<\/strong> if she needed Bowie’s<\/strong> permission to use his song, Mon\u00e1e<\/span><\/strong> said: “Oh, he’s a fan. He’s aware of me. His wife Iman<\/strong> is a huge supporter and she has told me countless times what a big fan he is.
