href=\"http:\/\/www.sharonvanetten.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Sharon Van Etten<\/strong> <\/a>and her<strong> Best Album of 2014<\/strong> contender, <em><strong>Are We There<\/strong><\/em>, have been garnering deserved adulation around the globe.\u00a0 And last night the artist and band hit another big-top moment when they made their <strong>Late Show with David Letterman<\/strong> debut.\u00a0 Check out <strong>Van Etten<\/strong> and superb band below all spruced up and delivering<em><strong> Every Time The Sun Comes Up<\/strong><\/em> with confident aplomb.\u00a0 On this album-closing song\u00a0<strong>Van Etten<\/strong> seems to attempt to leaven the heaviness of <em><strong>Are We There<\/strong><\/em> with lighter, off-the-cuff lyrics (such as the bleeped \u201cI wash your dishes, but I still [merde] in your bathroom.&#8221;).\u00a0 Delivered with her confidently powerful and inventive vocals, however, Van Etten masks well the flippant, smirking nature of the song&#8217;s lyrics (for an unmasking, see <strong>Van Etten&#8217;s<\/strong> miming during the KEXP performance of the song below).\u00a0 Watch the performance on<strong> Letterman<\/strong> below, followed by the song&#8217;s official video (which we somehow missed when released in May).\u00a0 And do yourselves a favor and pick up <em><strong>Are We There<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>At bottom
