One of the best surprises of the year has been Sylvan Esso<\/strong><\/a>, the duo comprised of Mountain Man\u2019s Amelia Meath<\/strong> and Megafaun\u2019s Nick Sanborn<\/strong>.\u00a0 We have repeatedly touted Sylvan Esso’s<\/strong> eponymously-titled debut album (bound to be high on our Best Albums of 2014<\/strong> list) and its uber-catchy songs (especially Coffee<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, Play It Right<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, and Hey Mami<\/strong><\/em><\/a>).\u00a0 The duo make an infectious and ebullient blend of electronic folk-pop music that deserves a much wider audience.\u00a0 Today they dropped their official video for the comparatively-brooding track Dreamy Bruises<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 The video’s a trickster, beginning ominously and foreboding, but naturally (for these two) ending in light and lights.\u00a0 Nicely done.\u00a0 Watch it below, and then pick up their album on Partisan Records<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 The song’s lyrics follow the video.<\/p>\n
