Earlier this year, FKA Twigs began to take over the electronic pop world<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 Now comes Tei Shi <\/strong>to give FKA Twigs<\/strong> a run for her money for Queen of 2014 Electro-Pop<\/strong>.\u00a0 We’d been sifting Tei Shi<\/strong> semaphores for a while, but this past week she unleashed her latest single, Bassically<\/strong><\/em>, which is basically impossible to ignore.\u00a0 Bassically<\/strong><\/em> is the follow-up to last year’s EP, Saudade<\/strong>, <\/em>and wormed into and took over our jukebox completely this week.\u00a0 Tei Shi<\/strong> is Colombian artist Valerie Teicher<\/strong> who now resides in Brooklyn.\u00a0 While hyper-catchy, her songs (aided by fellow Berklee School of Music<\/strong> alum producer Luca Buccellati<\/strong>) have a density, sophistication and depth not often found in such great supply in the genre.\u00a0 Let Bassically<\/strong><\/em> take you over below.\u00a0 It’s out now via Mom + Pop<\/strong> label Mermaid Avenue<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 After you get hooked on Bassically<\/strong><\/em>, check out two of our other favorites of the artist,\u00a0Nevermind The End <\/strong><\/em>and M&Ms<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 If you want to stake a discovery claim, you best start dropping her name yesterday ’cause she’s gonna be huge.<\/p>\n
