We’ve been fans of Jessie Ware<\/strong><\/a> since she released her sophisto-pop debut album Devotion<\/strong><\/em> in 2012<\/a>.\u00a0 Ware<\/strong> is back now with new sophomore album Tough Love<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

While not perfectly in our musical wheelhouse (and less subtle and pop-subversive than Devotion<\/strong><\/em>), we hereby laud Ware<\/strong> for Tough Love’s<\/strong> <\/em>adding some more respectability to the pop genre.\u00a0 This is pure pop for now people.\u00a0 One of the most impressive songs off the new album is Say You Love Me<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 When we first heard the song , we’ll admit we clicked off at about the 30-second mark.\u00a0 Shows how wrong you can be.\u00a0 Had we waited it out, we would have heard a pop masterpiece take flight somewhere between Ware’s<\/strong> stirring and sophisticated vocals, a sumptuous bridge and the addition of a full choir. \u00a0 Check the song’s official video out below.\u00a0 Afterwards, check out\u00a0and\u00a0Kind of…Sometimes…Maybe\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>(helped on by Miguel<\/strong>) and Want Your Feeling<\/strong><\/em> (co-written by the multitalented Dev Hynes of Blood Orange<\/strong>) as performed live at the Barbican.<\/p>\n
