Damien Rice<\/strong><\/a> will release his long-awaited, Rick Rubin<\/strong>-produced album,\u00a0 My Favourite Faded Fantasy, <\/em><\/strong>in a couple weeks.\u00a0 As a further preview, Rice<\/strong> has now released a great song off the new album entitled The Greatest Bastard<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 We love this song, having first heard Rice<\/strong> deliver a heartfelt, mesmerizing performance (see above) of it a few weeks ago on Later with Jools Holland<\/strong> (sure, we’d show you the performance, but the bilious BBC<\/strong> is unwilling to allow US citizens to view it on the web).\u00a0 You can at least hear the studio version below, embellished with strings.\u00a0 It’s a great one that bodes incredibly well for the new album.<\/p>\n
