The much-loved Oregon band, The Decemberists<\/strong><\/a>, will attempt to erase the bad taste left in Oregonians’ mouths (following Oregon’s loss last night in the college football national championship) when they release their\u00a0seventh studio album,\u00a0What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World<\/em><\/strong>, on January 20th on Capitol.\u00a0 You can now stream it in its entirety HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to the band’s press release, the new album is their \u201cmost varied and dynamic work, both musically and emotionally.\u201d\u00a0 Leader Colin Meloy<\/strong> has further said that the album is more personal than prior efforts and addresses \u201chaving a family, having kids, having this career, getting older \u2014 all of these things have made me look more inward.\u201d\u00a0 In addition to streaming the new album, check out below the just-released lyric video for A Beginning Song<\/strong><\/em>, an additional lyric video for Lake Song<\/strong><\/em>, the official video for Make You Better<\/strong><\/em>, and a recent unplugged performance (on WFUV<\/strong>) of the first track released from the album, The Wrong Year<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Great stuff, as usual, from The Decemberists, <\/strong>destined undoubtedly to appear on our Best Albums of 2015<\/strong> list.<\/p>\n
