When we started this petite Report<\/strong> nearly five years ago we had aspirations to cover the entire oceanfront (if you will) of culture.\u00a0 Music was a given, but we aspired to cover literature, poetry, movies, photography, art, etc.\u00a0 Well, we can all dream.\u00a0 With renewed resolutions for 2015, and for something completely different, if you are in or near Los Angeles please be advised of tomorrow night’s one-night only exhibit entitled Convergence.\u00a0 Convergence <\/strong><\/em>is an exhibit featuring surfboard\u00a0and\u00a0photography artwork from professional surfer\/musician Rob\u00a0Machado<\/strong> and from Sage\u00a0Vaughn.\u00a0 Convergence<\/em><\/strong> will\u00a0be\u00a0on\u00a0display this Thursday, January\u00a029,\u00a0201<\/strong>5, at the Flood\u00a0Magazine\u00a0Gallery<\/strong> (at\u00a05810\u00a0West\u00a0Third\u00a0Street,\u00a0Los\u00a0Angeles) from 7-10pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0exhibit\u00a0features\u00a010\u00a0limited\u00a0edition\u00a0surfboards\u00a0and\u00a0eight\u00a0large\u00a0scale\u00a0photographs.\u00a0 Proceeds from Convergence<\/strong><\/em> will\u00a0benefit the Rob Machado Foundation<\/strong><\/a>, a clean\u00a0water\u00a0filling\u00a0stations\u00a0project,\u00a0which\u00a0encourages\u00a0youth\u00a0at\u00a0California\u00a0elementary\u00a0and\u00a0high schools\u00a0to\u00a0use\u00a0reusable\u00a0water\u00a0bottles\u00a0in\u00a0hopes\u00a0of\u00a0eradicating\u00a0sales\u00a0of\u00a0single\/use\u00a0plastic\u00a0bottles.<\/p>\n

About the collaboration, Machado<\/strong> says:
\n“I\u00a0met\u00a0Sage\u00a0through\u00a0a\u00a0mutual\u00a0friend\u00a0while\u00a0surfing\u00a0and\u00a0his\u00a0passion\u00a0for\u00a0riding\u00a0waves\u00a0and\u00a0creativity\u00a0is contagious. Collaborating with\u00a0my\u00a0surfboards\u00a0designs\u00a0and\u00a0photos\u00a0as\u00a0his\u00a0canvas\u00a0has\u00a0been\u00a0so\u00a0inspiring.\u00a0I’m\u00a0honored\u00a0that\u00a0he\u00a0wants to\u00a0support\u00a0my\u00a0foundation’s\u00a0efforts\u00a0by\u00a0dedicating\u00a0his\u00a0time\u00a0and\u00a0incredible\u00a0talent. \u00a0We’re\u00a0excited\u00a0to\u00a0share the\u00a0outcome\u00a0with\u00a0everyone.”<\/p>\n

Sage\u00a0Vaughn<\/strong>\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0Los\u00a0Angeles\u00a0based\u00a0painter\u00a0and\u00a0illustrator\u00a0who\u00a0is\u00a0best\u00a0known\u00a0for\u00a0his\u00a0wildlife\u00a0series depicting\u00a0colorful\u00a0butterflies,\u00a0owls\u00a0and\u00a0sparrows\u00a0in\u00a0otherwise\u00a0melancholic\u00a0city\u00a0scenes. Vaughn\u00a0has\u00a0had\u00a0widely\u00a0acclaimed\u00a0solo\u00a0shows\u00a0in\u00a0New\u00a0York,\u00a0Geneva, London\u00a0and\u00a0Los\u00a0Angeles.<\/p>\n
