Last night Jon Stewart<\/strong> and The Daily Show<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0went out in style after 16 years of greatness. \u00a0To close out the finale, Stewart<\/strong> asked Bruce Springsteen<\/strong>\u00a0and the E Street Band<\/strong> to come on and perform a song request: \u00a0Land of Hope and Dreams<\/strong><\/em> (which segued into Born to Run<\/strong><\/em>). \u00a0As usual with the artist and the E Street Band, it was a joyous event, culminating in Stewart, his family, friends, staff and colleagues all dancing along and singing the chorus of Born to Run<\/strong><\/em>. \u00a0And there was joy amongst the tears.<\/p>\n

Watch below as Stewart introduces Springsteen<\/strong> as: \u00a0\u201c[a]n artist I really admire said that he thinks of his career as a long conversation with the audience, a dialogue. And I really like that metaphor for many different reasons. But the main one is, because it takes away the idea of finality. \u00a0This show isn\u2019t ending. We\u2019re merely taking a small pause in the conversation. A conversation which, by the way, I have hogged \u2026 I\u2019ve really been dominating this in a really selfish way. So rather than saying goodbye, or goodnight, I\u2019m just gonna say: I\u2019m gonna go get a drink, and I\u2019m sure I\u2019ll see you guys before I leave. \u00a0So here it is. My moment of zen.\u201d<\/p>\n
