To kick off the promotion of this March’s MusicNOW<\/a> <\/strong>festival (3\/18-20<\/strong>) in Cincinnati, the festival has released its video below of MusicNOW<\/strong> founder Bryce Dessner<\/strong>, his brother Aaron<\/strong>, Justin Vernon<\/strong> and Colin Stetson<\/strong>\u00a0in 2010 performing Sharon Van Etten’s<\/strong> uber-evocative Love More<\/strong> <\/em>(from her self-described debut album Epic<\/strong><\/em>, which we glowingly wrote about in 2010 HERE<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

As MusicNOW says about the performance: \u00a0“Colin [Stetson], Rob Moose<\/strong> and CJ Camerieri<\/strong> would go on to become core members of the Bon Iver<\/strong> live band which recorded 2011’s self-titled album that later won a Grammy<\/strong> for Best New Artist<\/strong>. Aaron [Dessner]<\/strong> would go on to produce Van Etten’s<\/strong> 2012 breakout release Tramp<\/strong><\/em>. Aaron & Vernon<\/strong> launched a larger, but still intimate Eaux Claires Festival<\/strong> in Wisconsin in 2015, inspired largely by the example of Cincinnati’s MusicNOW.”<\/p>\n

This year’s MusicNOW will feature a bit more classical music, including the world premiere of Bryce Dessner’s<\/strong> full orchestra version of his piece Aheym<\/i><\/strong>, and the U.S. premiere of his piece\u00a0R\u00e9ponse Lutoslawski<\/i><\/strong>,\u00a0<\/i>both performed by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra<\/strong>. The lineup will also include the Kronos Quartet, Punch Brothers, Sam Amidon, Julia Wolfe, Luluc<\/strong>, and more.<\/p>\n
