At the fab Todos Santos Musical Festival\u00a0<\/strong>last weekend<\/a>, Drive-By Truckers<\/strong> <\/a>were (as always) phenomenal and one of the highlights of each night. \u00a0A highlight from their set each night was a brand new, unreleased song written by Patterson Hood<\/strong> entitled What It Means<\/strong><\/em>. \u00a0Hood<\/strong> wrote the song in the wake of the deaths of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Eric Garner<\/strong> and entirely too many African-Americans. \u00a0Watch Hood<\/strong> give the backstory of the song and perform it solo, and then check out Drive-By Truckers<\/strong> performing the song at Todos Santos<\/strong> (apologies for the missed start). \u00a0Hood<\/strong> is singing truths that need to be sung over and over, and we need to work harder to figure out what it all means. \u00a0And deal. \u00a0In the meantime, we’ve got What It Means<\/strong> <\/em>on constant repeat at Chez Lefort\u00a0<\/strong>and can’t get enough. \u00a0We trust the song will appear on the next Drive-By Truckers<\/strong> album. \u00a0We can’t wait.<\/p>\n
