We spilled pixel after pixel in 2015 singing the praises of Sufjan Stevens’<\/a><\/strong> masterful, heartbreaking album Carrie & Lowell<\/strong><\/em>, which ultimately was our No. 3 Best Album of 2015<\/strong> (behind Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly<\/em><\/strong> and EL VY’s Return to the Moon<\/em><\/strong>–no where is that list, it’s around here somewhere?). \u00a0In the meantime we’ve been waiting anxiously for 2016’s musical Niagara Falls to start spilling, to no avail (whither\u00a0Radiohead, Feist<\/strong>, etc.?). \u00a0We surmise everyone’s busy getting ready for the Grammys<\/strong> to pass (ahem) this weekend.<\/p>\n

So we were thrilled yesterday when Stevens<\/strong> gave us a musical reason to live by releasing the well-captured video below of his band (Ben Lanz, Casey Foubert, Dawn Landes<\/strong>, and James McAlister<\/strong>)\u00a0<\/strong>performing the album’s sterling title track in Charleston<\/strong> last November. The video evokes fond memories of Stevens’<\/strong> 2015 tour and the perfectly embellished\/enhanced arrangements and performances of Carrie & Lowell’s<\/strong><\/em> songs (not to mention super reads of some older songs). \u00a0Check it out below.<\/p>\n

Speaking of tours, Stevens<\/strong> will continue his Carrie & Lowell<\/strong><\/em> caravan in Australia\/New Zealand beginning on Feb. 22nd (see list below the video) before returning to perform at Coachella,<\/strong> among other festivals (tickets can be found HERE<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n
