Meghan who? The music world did a collective eye-roll when Meghan “Off Bass” Trainor <\/strong>was named Best New Artist<\/strong> this year at the Grammys<\/strong>. \u00a0The one-hit, wonder-less Trainor<\/strong> stole the award from its rightful recipient, Aussie Courtney Barnett<\/a><\/strong>. \u00a0We’ve been singing Barnett’s<\/strong> praises since January 2014<\/a><\/strong>, and she was hands down the most deserving\u00a0Best New Artist<\/strong> out of the Grammy<\/strong> nominees. \u00a0And so it goes at the Grammys<\/strong>\u00a0(Ed Shearan<\/strong> over Kendrick Lamar\u00a0<\/strong>in any category other than “best mussy-hair”?? Gads).<\/p>\n

Anywho, last night on\u00a0Stephen Colbert’s Late Show,<\/strong>\u00a0Barnett’s trio<\/strong>\u00a0performed her sly rocker,\u00a0Nobody Really Cares If You Don\u2019t Go to the Party\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>(its performance a comment on the Grammys<\/strong>?), off of her critically-acclaimed 2015 album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit<\/strong><\/em>. \u00a0While not our favorite song off the great album (that would be Depreston<\/strong><\/em>, one of our Best Songs of 2015<\/strong>, which you can watch Barnett<\/strong> perform HERE<\/a><\/strong>), Barnett<\/strong>\u00a0easily manages to get the crowd and Colbert<\/strong> on her side with the performance. \u00a0Check it out below.<\/p>\n
