LNZNDRF<\/strong> <\/a>is a new trio spearheaded by the multitalented\u00a0Ben Lanz<\/strong> (Beirut<\/strong> and touring member of The National<\/strong>) and The National’s<\/strong>\u00a0fantastic, brotherly rhythm section, Scott<\/strong> and Bryan Devendorf<\/strong>. Yesterday LNZNDRF<\/strong> released their eponymously-titled debut album on\u00a04AD.<\/strong>\u00a0 To get a feel for their sound, check out their mesmerizing track Beneath the Black Sea<\/strong><\/em>. \u00a0We love everything about the song, including its War On Drugs<\/strong>-like propulsion and Ben Lanz’s<\/strong>\u00a0superb evocation of Joy Division’s Ian Curtis\u00a0<\/strong>(both lyrically and vocally). \u00a0Other songs on the album also honor Joy Division<\/strong>\u00a0(especially via Bryan Devendorf’s<\/strong> drumming) and other Factory<\/strong> sounds.
