We are starting to sound like a broken record. But when we lose one of the greats in this fleeting world, it pays to dwell. Thankfully, we are not alone in this. Other great artists continue to pay tribute to Prince<\/strong>. Last night on the Fallon Show<\/strong>, the mighty D’Angelo<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0deliberately and poignantly performed Prince’s Sometimes It Snows in April<\/em><\/strong>. It is no secret that\u00a0D’Angelo<\/strong> and Prince<\/strong> were frequent allies and friends, so until last night we could only imagine the particular ache in D’Angelo\u00a0<\/strong>(who also recently lost Phife<\/strong>). Watch below and feel the palpable pain. Towards the end of the song, D’Angelo<\/strong> substitutes\u00a0Prince’s<\/strong> “Tracy” and sings “I often dream of heaven and I know that Prince<\/strong> is there.” He then pauses, overtaken. The “Princess<\/strong>” backers (the remarkable\u00a0Maya Rudolph<\/strong> and Gretchen Lieberum<\/strong>) step in for D’Angelo<\/strong> and sing: “I know that he has found another friend.”<\/p>\n

Not a dry eye in the house.<\/p>\n

“And I know that Prince<\/strong> is there….” Indeed.<\/p>\n
