We watched spellbound last Saturday as Bon Iver\u2019s<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Coachella<\/strong> webcast unspooled in all its glory. What Justin Vernon<\/strong> can do to one’s soul with his overtly oblique songs must be witnessed and heard to be believed (to get a feel, watch the outstanding\u00a033 God<\/strong> <\/em>from that set last weekend in the second video). Jabberwocky-<\/strong><\/em>ish. <\/strong>But with soul for days.<\/p>\n

On the second weekend of Coachella\u00a0Bon Iver<\/strong> brought out a host of special guests last night, including Jenny Lewis<\/strong> and Bruce Hornsby<\/strong>\u00a0who joined Bon Iver<\/strong> for Hornsby’s<\/strong> co-written The End of the Innocence<\/strong><\/em> (made famous by Don Henley<\/strong> and still relevant–see lyrics at very bottom). Watch that performance below. Later Sylvan Esso\u2019s Amelia Meath<\/strong>\u00a0helped out on Flume<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/em>Nao<\/strong>\u00a0aided on Michicant<\/strong><\/em>. and Francis<\/strong> (of Francis and the Lights<\/strong>) sang Francis’s Friends<\/em><\/strong> with Vernon<\/strong>. We’ll see if Coachella<\/strong>\u00a0eventually graces us with video captures of the latter two.<\/p>\n
