Carey<\/strong><\/a> is the gifted multi-instrumentalist\/songwriter cohort of\u00a0<strong>Justin Vernon<\/strong> in <strong>Bon Iver<\/strong>. We have been <strong>Carey<\/strong> fans since his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/2012-03\/new-ep-from-bon-ivers-s-carey\/\"><strong>fantastic first solo album in 2010<\/strong><\/a>. Since then<strong> Carey<\/strong> has ever-added to the <strong>Bon Iver<\/strong> largesse while releasing his own superb recordings, including 2015&#8217;s\u00a0<em><strong>Supermoon<\/strong><\/em> EP and his much-lauded 2014 album<em><strong> Range Of Light<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carey<\/strong> has now released new song\u00a0<em><strong>Brassy Sun<\/strong><\/em>, which he recorded for <strong>Will Arnett\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0series <em><strong>Flaked<\/strong><\/em> on <strong>Netflix<\/strong>. In contrast to the TV series&#8217; comedy, <em><strong>Brassy Sun<\/strong><\/em> is a song sung blue that is contemplative and questioning and framed in a rending melody. We hear echoes of <strong>Vernon<\/strong>, the <strong>Dessner Twins<\/strong> and <strong>Sufjan Stevens<\/strong> wrapped up in one. We love everything about it, but especially the harmonies on the <strong>&#8220;Where have I been?&#8221;<\/strong> refrain.
