And we can&#8217;t resist that bandwagon. On the new album, <strong>Bridgers<\/strong> has picked out heart-string melodies that are counter-balanced by vocal restraint. But <strong>Bridgers&#8217;<\/strong> lyrics are the highlight of the show (see examples below), evincing incision amidst minimalist modulations. It&#8217;s a winning formula, coupled with subtle production values (thanks to\u00a0<span class=\"metadata_unit-info\"><strong>Tony Berg, Ethan Gruska<\/strong> and <strong>Mike Mogis<\/strong>). \u00a0In addition to the aforementioned songs, highlights include <em><strong>Funeral,<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<em><strong>Scott Street<\/strong><\/em> (with its Elliott-isms and steady build), <em><strong>Killer<\/strong><\/em> (with John Doe&#8217;s killer harmony), <em><strong>Chelsea<\/strong> <\/em>and <em><strong>Would You Rather<\/strong><\/em> (with <strong>Conor Oberst&#8217;s<\/strong>\u00a0lived-in vocals counterpointing <strong>Bridgers&#8217;<\/strong> silken sounds).
