Carey<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(the gifted multi-instrumentalist\/songwriter cohort of\u00a0<strong>Justin Vernon<\/strong> in <strong>Bon Iver<\/strong>) since his\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/2012-03\/new-ep-from-bon-ivers-s-carey\/\"><strong>fantastic first solo album in 2010<\/strong><\/a>. More recently,\u00a0<strong>Carey<\/strong>\u00a0released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/2017-08\/listen-to-evocative-new-song-brassy-sun-by-s-carey-bon-iver\/\">new song\u00a0<em><strong>Brassy Sun<\/strong><\/em><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and alluded to a new solo album in 2018. And today\u00a0<strong>Carey<\/strong> has revealed that he will release new album\u00a0<em><strong>Hundred Acres<\/strong><\/em> on <strong>Jagjaguwar<\/strong> on <strong>February 23rd<\/strong>.\u00a0 To whet the appetite,<strong> Carey<\/strong> has released the affecting song\u00a0<span class=\"text_exposed_show\"><em><strong>Fool\u2019s Gold<\/strong><\/em>, which you can listen to below. <em><strong>Fool&#8217;s Gold<\/strong><\/em> was evidently the rare song birthed by <strong>Carey<\/strong> on guitar (rather than his usual keyboard approach). Says <strong>Carey<\/strong>, \u201cThis song is what started the whole record . . . everything came out of it and the vibe it created.\u201d As you will hear on <em><strong>Fool&#8217;s Gold<\/strong><\/em> (lyrics at bottom)<strong> Carey<\/strong> is scary-skilled at sculpting songs centered around evocative incantations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text_exposed_show\"> <em><strong>Fool&#8217;s Gold<\/strong><\/em> bodes incredibly well for <em><strong>Hundred Acres<\/strong><\/em>, which features his longtime collaborators <strong>Zach Hanson, Ben Lester<\/strong>, and <strong>Jeremy Boettcher<\/strong>, along with\u00a0<strong>Rob Moose (yMusic)<\/strong>, <strong>Casey Foubert (Sufjan Stevens)<\/strong> and <strong>Sophie Payten (Gordi)<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"text_exposed_show\"> Bring on <em><strong>Hundred Acres<\/strong><\/em>!
