British band, <strong>Mumford and Sons<\/strong>, came to the sanctuary of the hallowed <strong>Santa Barbara Bowl<\/strong> last night and tantalized the crowd with its tent show revival.\u00a0 They played with infectious joy and it wasn&#8217;t long before that fecund rapture raised the crowd right out of their seats.\u00a0 The band was in constant movement and played as if end times were upon us.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-4579\" title=\"Mumford Band\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Mumford-Band-650x266.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"635\" height=\"259\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Mumford-Band-650x266.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Mumford-Band-150x61.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Mumford-Band-450x184.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 635px) 100vw, 635px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Though there was only occasional drumming (several times played well by leader, Marcus Mumford, as seen below on <em>Lover of the Light), <\/em>the band pounded out a relentless beat interspersed with dynamic downshifts, only to shift back up to stomp-down.\u00a0 Winston Marshall banged and body-rolled his banjo, Ted Dwayne beat up the bottom end on bass, the three-horns hectored, and Ben Lovett played the keys with flair and an unflappable smile.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-4582\" title=\"Mumford Trio\" Mumford experience, it&#8217;s of Marcus strumming his guitar at the speed of sound to propel the proceedings.\u00a0 It brings the house down every time.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-4583\" title=\"Mumford\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Mumford-650x437.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"635\" Barbara Bowl<\/strong> and Santa Barbara, and they&#8217;ll be back.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t miss it next time.<\/p>\n<p>Below is the long setlist (they claimed <strong>their longest ever<\/strong>), which for <strong>The Tallest Dylan Impersonator<\/strong> we&#8217;ll have to admit that he presents himself better live than on record.\u00a0 He&#8217;s a very adept finger-picking guitar player and has some interesting things to sing.\u00a0 And he covered John Hartford&#8217;s oft-covered (most famously by Glen Campbell) chestnut, <em>Gentle on My Mind. <\/em>We just wish we hadn&#8217;t heard it all before by the master himself.\u00a0 TMOE should invite that stellar female harmonist on stage more often.\u00a0 With some added elements and some Dylan-downplay he could grow a bit.<\/p>\n<p><img night<\/strong> by a couple of  enterprising lasses (<strong>Hannah and Chloe) <\/strong>who, at the end of the Mumfords last song, literally ran to  their car and (carefully) raced out to UCSB to catch <strong>Ellie Goulding&#8217;s <\/strong>show at the UCenn.\u00a0 Rave reviews followed.\u00a0 Hats off on <strong>the
