{"id":5422,"date":"2011-07-14T22:55:37","date_gmt":"2011-07-14T22:55:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/?p=5422"},"modified":"2011-07-15T01:14:59","modified_gmt":"2011-07-15T01:14:59","slug":"iron-and-wine-on-4ad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/2011-07\/iron-and-wine-on-4ad\/","title":{"rendered":"Iron and Wine on 4AD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While in recovery this morning from an arresting night of live music (primarily as a result of Portland&#8217;s bound-to-triumph, full-band <strong>Hosannas, <\/strong>but also the returning local-heroes <strong>Gardens &amp; Villa<\/strong>), we came across a perfect palliative courtesy of <strong>Pitchfork <\/strong>and <strong>4AD. <\/strong>Check out\u00a0 <strong>Iron and Wine<\/strong> performing on a recent <strong>4AD Session <\/strong>below<strong>. <\/strong>Actually, it&#8217;s &#8220;just&#8221; leader <strong>Sam Beam<\/strong> (not the full band) performing five songs solo, which should appeal to those of you who prefer the earlier <strong>Iron and Wine 1.0<\/strong> release (no doubt the same sort of crowd that would have booed the electric Dylan at Newport in &#8217;65) as opposed to the <strong>2.0 version<\/strong> that was heard on their most recent album, <strong>Kiss Each Other Clean<\/strong>, and featured on tour in support of that album.\u00a0 As usual, Sam wins you over.\u00a0 We were mainly left coveting sleep, a nylon-stringed guitar and a beard (literally; no wise-cracks), not necessarily in that order.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Iron And Wine - 4AD Session\" width=\"635\" height=\"357\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PGrcPRw6yYU?start=34&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>While in recovery this morning from an arresting night of live music (primarily as a result of Portland&#8217;s bound-to-triumph, full-band Hosannas, but also the returning local-heroes Gardens &amp; Villa), we came across a perfect palliative courtesy of Pitchfork and 4AD.
