(Arcade Fire) at SappyFest 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-5782\" title=\"sappyfest_six\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sappyfest_six-650x525.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"635\" height=\"512\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sappyfest_six-650x525.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sappyfest_six-150x121.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sappyfest_six-450x363.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sappyfest_six.jpg 656w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 635px) 100vw, 635px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Musical festivals have been one positive result of this digital age in which musicians find themselves making most of their money playing live.\u00a0 As a result of this phenomenon and the creative and organizational skills of the music-minded, musical festivals and house concerts have sprung up everywhere.\u00a0 To wit,<a href=\"http:\/\/sappyfest.com\/SappyFest_11\/about.html\"> <strong>SappyFest<\/strong><\/a> held its <strong>sixth annual festival<\/strong> this past weekend in <strong>Sackville, New Brunswick<\/strong>.\u00a0 SappyFest was begun in 2006 by Sappy Records, Julie Doiron, Jon Claytor and Paul Henderson.\u00a0 Add another music festival to our bucket list.<\/p>\n<p>This year turned out to be particularly momentous when <strong>Arcade Fire showed up<\/strong> (in the advertised guise of &#8220;<strong>Shark Attack!<\/strong>&#8220;) to surprise with a strong set for the smallish, fortunate crowd.\u00a0 Other great artists such as <strong>John K.
