{"id":6068,"date":"2011-08-23T09:12:13","date_gmt":"2011-08-23T09:12:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/?p=6068"},"modified":"2011-08-23T16:00:11","modified_gmt":"2011-08-23T16:00:11","slug":"kexp-video-vault","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/2011-08\/kexp-video-vault\/","title":{"rendered":"KEXP&#8217;s Vaunted Video Vault"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have repeatedly lauded Seattle&#8217;s great left-of-the-dial public radio station <strong>KEXP <\/strong>and their treasure trove of archived videos and audio sessions.\u00a0 We hadn&#8217;t visited for a bit, but when we did we found lots to like and particularly from bands we had recently covered.\u00a0 Check some great performances from the last months.<\/p>\n<p>We wrote about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/2011-08\/handsome-furs-on-radio-k\/\"><strong>Handsome Furs last week<\/strong><\/a> and their performances at <strong>Radio K,<\/strong> but we were newly captivated by their performance of <em><strong>What About Us? <\/strong><\/em>on KEXP, and especially beginning at the 3:36 mark when husband-singer Dan Boeckner drops to his knees and follows-up by helicoptering hugs all around the assembly.\u00a0 This version has an ineffable appeal &#8217;cause it feels like the f&#8217;-in real deal.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Handsome Furs - What About Us (Live on KEXP)\" width=\"635\" height=\"357\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Z1y_Bspc7d0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
