We discovered a bit of musical bliss for Sunday.\u00a0 Check out the video below by A Story Told Well <\/strong>from Cincinnati’s 2011 MusicNOW Festival<\/strong><\/a> (this year curated by The National’s Bryce Dessner<\/strong>).\u00a0 As is stated, this collaboration between Sharon Van Etten<\/strong>, Bon Iver<\/strong>, Megafaun<\/strong>, and Fight The Big Bull <\/strong>(collectively called Sounds Of The South<\/strong>), was considered one of the highlights of this year’s MusicNOW Festival.\u00a0 Here, Justin Vernon and Sharon Van Etten duet in a performance of “Trials, Troubles, Tribulations,” one of the re-imaginings of the songs recorded by ethnomusicologist Alan Lomax<\/strong> in his early travels.<\/p>\n

Speaking of The National<\/strong>, oh how we wish we were headed to their headlining show tonight at the Hollywood Bowl<\/strong><\/a> with Neko Case (backed by T Bone Burnett, who’s producing her new album) and Sharon Van Etten.\u00a0 We can’t imagine a better musical place to be on the planet today.\u00a0 Tomorrow is Departure Day, however, so we have a higher calling this day.<\/p>\n
