Do yourselves a huge favor and go buy the new Waits album <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tomwaits.com\/albums\/#\/albums\/album\/34\/Bad_As_Me\/\"><strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-7670\" title=\"5190\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/5190.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/5190.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/5190-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After only a few listens, our pick of the song litter (the album is littered with gems) so far is <em><strong>Pay Me, <\/strong><\/em>which features both longtime-Waits-standby,<strong> Marc Ribot<\/strong>, and <strong>Los Lobos&#8217; David Hidalgo<\/strong>, on guitar (<strong>Keith Richards<\/strong> also plays\/sings on four songs on the album).\u00a0 <em><strong>Pay Me <\/strong><\/em>is a heartbreaker in the tradition of Waits&#8217; best ballads&#8211;otherwise known as &#8220;<strong>Bawlers<\/strong>&#8220;&#8211;such as <em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qwg3y_FnLmg\">Soldier&#8217;s Things<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3_eR0IVSOhY&amp;feature=related\">Time<\/a>, <\/strong><\/em><strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/dai.ly\/cGS0Hv\">Tom Traubert&#8217;s Blues<\/a><\/em>, <\/strong>and <em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Md7iv0Rg1LU&amp;feature=related\">Innocent When You Dream<\/a>, <\/strong><\/em>amongst a bevy of others.
