We’ve liked the Minneapolis-born band, Tapes n’ Tapes<\/strong><\/a>, ever since their urgency-riddled debut album, “Loon<\/strong>,” in 2007.\u00a0 Though not favored by the critics, we also enjoyed their Dave Fridmann-produced sophomore album, “Walk It Off<\/strong>.” <\/strong>And earlier this year the band released it’s third album, the return-to-full-form “Outside<\/strong>,” which includes three song-subjects performed by the band on a just-released Sleepover Show<\/strong><\/a> out of Boston.<\/p>\n

First check out the great, driving first single off of Outside, Freak Out, <\/strong><\/em>followed by One in the World<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Then check out the footstomping acoustic-shuffle delivery of SWM <\/strong><\/em>(following the song lyrics).\u00a0 We like how the lyrical despair in\u00a0 SWM <\/strong><\/em>cuts against the grain of the ostensibly upbeat music. <\/strong><\/em> <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
