{"id":9542,"date":"2012-02-22T00:05:36","date_gmt":"2012-02-22T08:05:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/?p=9542"},"modified":"2012-02-22T06:57:29","modified_gmt":"2012-02-22T14:57:29","slug":"guest-blogger-an-introduction-to-electro-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thelefortreport.com\/blog\/2012-02\/guest-blogger-an-introduction-to-electro-music\/","title":{"rendered":"Guest Blogger&#8211;An Introduction to Electro Music"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We at Lefort admit we are slothful and so are happy to occasionally sit back, take a listen and ride the coattails of others.\u00a0 So it is that we welcome guest blogger, <strong>Derp<\/strong>, to Lefort.\u00a0 Take it away then, Derp.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Derp<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You know, Lefort, your coverage of indie, country, soul, punk, reggae (wait, where&#8217;s that anyway?), jazz and traditional rock is all fine and good, but where are the electro sounds?\u00a0 You&#8217;re failing to cover the most exciting genre happening in music today, a genre which appeals to both the young and the old (that would be you, monsieur).\u00a0 I can help with that.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s start with some of the most accessible artists and tracks in the genre, and then we can get into some more challenging material in due time.<\/p>\n<p>Without further adieu, first check out Austrian artist, <strong>Parov Stelar<\/strong>.\u00a0 The stellar <strong>Stelar<\/strong> uses swing music as his foundation and then layers onto it modern dance and\/or electro beats for a combo that is unique and addictingly enjoyable.\u00a0 The result is the sub-genre, &#8220;<strong>Electroswing<\/strong>.&#8221;\u00a0 Check out <em><strong>Catgroove <\/strong><\/em>below, which is quintessential Stelar that employs a jazzy swing number, with a driving beat above and below it, and a resulting modern dance feel.\u00a0 You and your readers will also likely enjoy the inventive solo dancing by &#8220;<strong>Forythe<\/strong>&#8221; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=JRtHYiWmsoA<\/p>\n<p>Next up is Berlin&#8217;s <strong>Robot Koch<\/strong>.\u00a0 First check out recently-released <em><strong>Nitesky,\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>with its lyrics and melancholy sound.\u00a0 <strong>John LaMonica&#8217;s<\/strong> vocals complement the tone of the song perfectly.\u00a0 The song may remind your readers of <strong>The Antlers<\/strong> and their album, <strong>Hospice<\/strong>, with its mournful sounds.\u00a0 But <em><strong>Nitesky<\/strong><\/em> is less depressing and, instead of causing me to think about death, reminds me of people naturally coming and going from one&#8217;s life.\u00a0 Listen in at 2:03, when Robot Koch drops in a marching beat and causes my foot to start tapping and my head nodding along in agreement.\u00a0 <em><strong>Nitesky<\/strong><\/em> is found on Robot Koch&#8217;s album,<strong> The Other Side<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Robot Koch - Nitesky Featuring John LaMonica\" width=\"635\" height=\"476\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/D-aJfcYzct8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; track by the aptly named LA group, <strong>Glitch Mob<\/strong>.\u00a0 Glitch Mob is well known for songs such as <em><strong>Animus Vox, Drive It Like You Stole It<\/strong><\/em>, and <em><strong>Between Two Points<\/strong><\/em>, but this song adds some great aggression to the electronic sound.\u00a0 Afterwards check out <em><strong>Animus Vox<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Glitch Mob - We Can Make The World Stop\" width=\"635\" height=\"357\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/H-k_Eg7zXuc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
