Last night Esperanza Spalding<\/strong><\/a> performed Radio Song<\/strong><\/em> off of her new album, Radio Music Society<\/strong>, on the Letterman Show<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 Radio Music Society<\/strong> was released today and bodes well for fans of crossover jazz, as we see a resurgence in new players of the genre.\u00a0 Somehow Spalding manages to convey the spirits of both Wayne<\/strong> (Shorter) and Wonder<\/strong> (Stevie) on the new album.\u00a0 The New York Times<\/strong> had a great feature article on her last week, which you can read HERE<\/a>.\u00a0 Check out her performance below.\u00a0 Once again, Dave<\/strong> and Paul<\/strong> are right on with their fervent praise.<\/p>\n

Spalding has this to say about Radio Song<\/em><\/strong> on her website: “This song speaks to an experience we\u2019ve all had at one time or another: when for whatever reason, you turn on the radio and a fragment of a song just grabs you, everything in the world seems to stop, and you sit mesmerized and uplifted by the music.
