The much-loved Oregon band, The Decemberists, will attempt to erase the bad taste left in Oregonians’ mouths (following Oregon’s loss last night in the college football national championship) when they release their seventh studio album, What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World, on January 20th on Capitol.  You can now stream it in its entirety HERE.

According to the band’s press release, the new album is their “most varied and dynamic work, both musically and emotionally.”  Leader Colin Meloy has further said that the album is more personal than prior efforts and addresses “having a family, having kids, having this career, getting older — all of these things have made me look more inward.”  In addition to streaming the new album, check out below the just-released lyric video for A Beginning Song, an additional lyric video for Lake Song, the official video for Make You Better, and a recent unplugged performance (on WFUV) of the first track released from the album, The Wrong Year.  Great stuff, as usual, from The Decemberists, destined undoubtedly to appear on our Best Albums of 2015 list.

The band will embark on a worldwide tour in support of the new album.  Unfortunately, their participation in  Corpchella currently has them bypassing all other California venues.  ‘Tis a shame and a crime.
